Dr. Kathy L. Rumer is a board-certified Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon based in the Philadelphia area whose practice is geared exclusively toward transgender patients. In addition to performing hundreds of gender-affirming procedures each year, Dr. Rumer also directs a 1-year gender surgery fellowship program.
Dr. Rumer offers the Abdominal and MLD Phalloplasty procedures. The Abdominal procedure is a good option for those who do not require Urethroplasty or Vaginectomy but would like a phallus suitable for penetrative sex. With MLD Phalloplasty, the donor site is taken from the side of the torso, leaving a scar that extends from under the arm to the lower back. Urethroplasty is typically done in two stages: primary urethral lengthening and secondary urethral lengthening.
Associated procedures such as Hysterectomy, Glansplasty, and Scrotoplasty with Testicular Implants are also available.

Requirements: Dr. Rumer is a WPATH member and follows WPATH guidelines for surgery.
